Description:
Serial #453033, .38 Special, 4" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a 1937-made revolver that exhibits very little use, and has retained 98-99% of the original blue finish, with only some trace fading at the muzzle, and a faint turn-ring on the cylinder. The checkered walnut grips are likewise in excellent condition, with almost no handling marks, nor any flattening of the points. The lock-up is tight, and the action functions flawlessly. The revolver is accompanied by a 1967-dated Colt Factory Letter that lists a shipping date of November 23, 1938, to Honeyman Hardware Co. of Portland, OR, as a single piece order. Also included is a 1967-dated letter from the Chief of Police of Portland, OR, indicating that the revolver is not listed in either the police department’s files, or those of the Multnomah Sheriff’s Office. The box included is original, in nice condition and correctly marked for the revolver. The serial number writen on the back of the box is 448707 which does not match the gun. This is a splendid Police Positive Special that looks rarely if ever fired after it left the factory. FFL or C&R
