Description:
1895, Late black powder era, Colt Single Action Army in .41 Long Colt. This gun was found in a keg of nails in Grandbury, Texas. Any history of its past and journey from St. Louis in July of 1895 to its discovery in Texas were taken to the grave with previous owners. The Colt Historian letter states that is was shipped to  Simmons Hardware in St. Louis, Misouri on July 15, 1895. I was unable to upload the letter, but will gladly provide the letter on request.
This Peacemaker was originally blued. As you can see it has been nicely cleaned; but the Texas humidity and neglect shows in the loss of finish and pitting.
