Description: General Specs: Colt, 1976, .357mag, 39oz, 4" Serial Number: L19755 After the introduction of the Colt Python to widespread acclaim, Colt re-launched the Colt Trooper in 1969 to fill the niche for a medium frame revolver aimed at the Law enforcement market. The .357 Magnum Trooper was the premier offering of the new product line, featuring a heavy barrel with a solid top matted rib as well as a shroud to protect the ejection rod. The Trooper was lighter, handier, and smoother than the Smith & Wesson competition, the internal lockworks, springs and pins were stainless steel and hand fitted. This gun sits in the hand as only a Colt can, it just fits and feels right, the walnut grips are in excellent shape with light handling wear and gold Rampant Colt medallions. Of course, the Trooper has Colts famously smooth and crisp trigger, in this example a DA of 9.6lb and slick SA measuring 4lb. In single action there is the slightest amount of take up before a perfect break and zero overtravel- simply amazing! The Nickel plating is factory original; it shows some fine field marks. The gun has been shot sparingly. The faintest of drag lines circumvent the cylinder, the bore is mirrored while the hammer is case colored, overall, this 1976 produced revolver is in excellent condition. The Colt Trooper MKIII is a classic LEO sidearm, immensely popular before the advent of the wonder nines! Complimenting the famous Colt Snakes this would be a fine addition to any Colt collection.
