Remington Model 11 - " The Sportsman " - 16 Ga. Semi-Auto Shotgun - The Model 11 is a copy of the Browning Auto 5 manufactured under a patent agreement with Browning until 1949. The Sportsman model was designed for hunters with a Semi - Auto action with 3 round 16 Ga. x 2.75 shell capacity to conform with Federal Waterfowl regulations at that time. Sharp checkering pistol grip style stock and fore arm . 26 In. long solid ribbed barrel with a bead front sight and receiver with engraved game scenes on each side. Modified choke . Polished bolt. Barrel and receiver are retaining approx. 90% bluing. Wrist tang area is less. Butt plate in excellent condition. LOP 14 in. Wgt. 7.25 lbs. Bore is clean and bright. Stock and fore arm are in excellent condition with minimal handling marks. New soft sleeve included. Overall condition is excellent for the age of this shotgun. Barrel code indicates manufactured in 1931. The Browning design was manufactured from 1905 to 1947. This Sportsman is extremely rare as the solid rib barrel was special order at that time. Collector quality.
