AH. Fox B Grade
Fox B Grade S/N 19439 date of mfg. 1912. Fine scroll work with Quail & Woodcock engraving scene. I believe this to be the last of several B grade motifs of the first-generation engraving styles. 30” Krupp steel extractor Barrels with Ivory beads. Choked Right, IC. Left IMP. Mod. Straight grip, Splinter fore end. Chambers are 2 ¾”. The gun was restocked in the early 1990’s with a very nice piece of French walnut as the original. Albeit with modern and shoot-able dimensions. Added was a very tasteful Skeleton butt plate. For the collector folks the original straight grip stock with the original replacement pad is included. Stock Dimensions: 1 3/8” DAC, X 2 ¼” DAH, X 14 7/8” LOP. Gun weight is 7lbs even. This gun is balanced perfectly. It swings and handles like a London Best grade. It is from an earlier A.H Fox era where the fit and finish is VERY evident compared to the later models. This is a desirable collectable Fox from a production era where the quality is unmatched in the later guns. This is the Hallmark of the Ansley Fox years. Note much case color is still left. Also note the gracefully cut trigger spoons, and the doubled rolled trigger guard edges. Also note the delicately cut and formed top lever. These appealing features did not survive in later production guns. The buyer assumes shipping & insurance fees. 3-day standard inspection period. Offers considered.
