Presented here is an excellent non-import marked example of a WWI BSA SMLE No 1 Mk III* chambered in .303 British. Manufactured in 1917, this SMLE is comprised of all BSA components and is mostly matching parts with the exception of the bolt and magazine. The original blue finish across the entire rifle is in fantastic condition for its age with the only deductions being a handful of scattered handling marks and some light high-edge wear. The original stock is in great overall condition and shows no signs of major damage just various scattered handling marks/compression dents. The upper handguard is in similarly great condition but does have a couple of hairline cracks right in front of the front sight. The bore of the original barrel is in excellent condition with a mirror-bright finish and strong rifling. All the factory markings are still visible and all the controls function 100%. This rifle would be an outstanding addition to any military collection and/or a fantastic range rifle.
