Custom Marlin 336 Zane Grey Century .30-30 Winchester. ATTRIBUTION: Consignor believes the original owner of this rifle was Robert Wallack, a period gunwriter and affiliate of Marlin. Writing “Robert Walack’s Zane Gray Custom Wood & Checkered” appears on the box end. There is no evidence that a medallion was ever attached to the receiver. Serial 72077843 has a 22-inch octagon barrel (full-length magazine tube, beaded blade front sight, adjustable rear sight blade). Features include a drilled and tapped receiver, gold trigger, brass forend cap and a custom stock (bordered checkering, Marlin butt plate). DIMENSIONS: Weight is 7.2 pounds and the length-of-pull is 13.4 inches. CONDITION: Almost certainly unfired since factory proof, the bore is strong and bright. Metal finish is new, other than some tarnish on the forend cap. Wood finish is new. The price is firm and layaway is available. $3,500 plus shipping.
