Description:
Browning Model Auto 22, Grade I semi-automatic rifle in the now discontinued 22 Short caliber and having a 22" barrel length. Equipped both with iron sights (rear fold down sight) and drilled & tapped for scope mounting. The serial number suffix is "NN212" with the "NN" indicating a year of manufacture of 1999 and the "212" being the standard for the Auto 22 rifle at that period of time. Browning no longer makes this rifle in 22 Short as they have decided to make them all in 22 LR. Note the the barrel length is incorrect on the Browning box, end label which lists this as having a 19-1/4" barrel. That barrel length pertains to the 22 LR version of this model. That was an apparent problem during 1999 for Browning as I have had several of these rifles in 22 Short caliber made during that year with all of those having the incorrect barrel length on the box.
The condition of this rifle is New Old Stock due to the age being 24 years young. It comes in a serial number matching Browning box and the rifle is wrapped inside a plastic film as was used by Browning for shipping. Both the rifle and the plastic film have oily coatings which was applied for rust protection from the factory. No attempt has been made to clean the exterior of this rifle nor to assemble the components. After 24 years, there might be a small handling mark or two; however, I have seen factory new firearms with similar handling marks. This also comes with an owners manual and product literature still in plastic bag along with a trigger lock. Please review the photos as those are the only complete description as to the condition of this shotgun.
