Description:

Stunning full custom .270 Winchester built on a commercial Mauser action by Ed DeLorge of Houma, LA featuring a 24" sightless Lilja barrel. This rifle has a three position side swing safety, custom bottom metal with a straddle floorplate and trigger bow release, Timney fully adjustable trigger, and old style Warne lever release rings. Stocked in Americam Classic style with a very nice piece of English Walnut with outstanding color and contrast and some fiddleback figure. The checkering is 28 LPI with Fleur de Lis and ribbon pattern. Stock features include a shadow line cheekpiece, ebony forend tip, and two screw inletted sling studs fore and aft. The barrel shank, receiver, rings, bases, bolt shroud, floorplate, trigger guard and grip cap all exhibit Mr. DeLorge's exquisite scroll engraving with extensive linear gold inlay incuding double bands at breech and muzzle ends barrel and a gold inlay Whitetail Deer on the floorplate. LOP is 13 1/8" to a checkered steel buttplate. Weight is 8lb 11oz without scope.
This is an outstanding piece in nearly new condition with the very slightest of handling marks. It obviously has not been hunted. Mr. DeLorge is one of a handful of true renaissance men who can do it all, stockmaking, checkering, metalsmithing, and high quality engraving. Stock inletting by the late Michael Kokolus of Aaronsburg, PA. This gun could not be replaced for twice the asking price! It is a kissing cousin to the DeLorge .300 Win Mag that I also have listed.
