Description:
Serial #4546, made by F.W. Höller . This is an original 1941 German GS 84/98 WWII Pattern bayonet with Bakelite grips in excellent condition retaining almost 80% of the original bluing on the unsharpened blade. The blade shows normal wear on the end from passing into the scabbard and a few impact mark on the spine mid blade. The hilt, Bakelite grips and pommel are in very good painted condition with all the correct Wehrmacht markings and a faint scattering of oxidation on the screws. This bayonet is accompanied by a matching #4546 correct, also painted black scabbard and leather frog both in very good condition with light oxidation and bumps and dings of honest use. The frog is still pliable with only a small amount of loose stitching where the guard rests. Bayonet is 15" (385mm) overall with a nearly 10" (251mm) blade.
