Edwin A. Prescott Brass Frame, Navy Model "FIRST MODEL" -- This .38 caliber 6 shot revolver has the 7 inch rifled barrel. Clean Crisp Edges and Screws.
The top barrel flat is marked "E.A. PRESCOTT, WORCESTER, MASS./PAT. OCT. 2 1860"... has proper blade style front sight.
SERIAL # 41 has matching numbers on the frame, grips, cylinder pin, and cylinder. The barrel, cylinder, frame, and trigger guard are silver plated and the revolver is fit with smooth varnished two piece grips.
Prescott revolvers were infringements on the Rollin White patent and the production of this and other Prescott models were stopped through legal action by Smith & Wesson. Some of these revolver were carried by Union officers and enlisted men as personal sidearms.. (shown are both 1st. and 2nd. model)
