Description:
Up for sale is a Colt M1878 double-action revolver in 44-40 that was manufactured by Colt's Manufacturing Company from 1878 to 1907. It is often referred to as the "Frontier" or the "Double Action Army" revolver. Rolled "FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER" on barrel. Stamped 44 under cylinder pin. This gun retains about 30% of it original blue. The bore is slightly pitted, but rifling is sharp. Knob on loading gate is missing. Single and double action work perfectly. Sold as is. .44-40 Winchester
