Description:
Arisaka Type 99, chambered in 7.7 Jap. Features include: Mauser inspired bolt action, 26 in. barrel length, 5 shot internal box magazine, one-piece bolt construction, controlled feed Mauser style extractor, adj. rear peep style ladder sight, fixed shrouded front blade sight, full length wooden stock, full length upper handguard, bottom mounted sling swivels, metal buttplate, finger grooves on forearm, knurled knob style safety located on the rear of the bolt body, straight bolt handle, action operated sliding dust cover, lever-style bolt release with integral ejector, blued finish. Stock has scuff marks at various points along its length and some loss of finish on the bottom at the butt plate. Bluing is mostly intact and bore is decently clean. Clearly seen on the top of the receiver is Type 99 in Japanese characters and the spot where the chrysanthemum was filed off. On the left side of the receiver we can see that this was a 4th series, followed by the serial number and the Nagoya arsenal mark. 7.7 Japanese
