This circa 1957 38 Special Colt Official Police is marked N.Y.S.T. on the backstrap. The 4"" barrel has an excellent bore with bright, strong rifling. It appears that the barrel was shortened from 6"" which is common for the N.Y.S.T. carry guns. This was done to make them easier to carry and handle. The gun has approx. 90% blue with expected holster wear on the cylinder, top edge of the frame, straps, and muzzle area. The checkered walnut grips, with silver Colt medallions, are very good with minor bruising and no cracks or chips. The action functions correctly. This Colt Official Police N.Y.S.T. revolver is reasonably priced for the police collector.
