Description:
SUPERB NEAR MINT SAVAGE 99M PE IN 308 WIN - SN 1142744. Made in 1966 with a 22'" tapered barrel that has a deep blued finish with folding leaf sight and front iron sight. Standard marking on barrel including 308 win and high presure steel. Push buttom gold plated safety on top tang. Action is drill and tapped for scope with gold filler screws. Number of rounds counter on left side of receiver. Gold plated cocking indecators. Bolt is fully jeweled showing no action markers. Receiver, tang and lever is elaborately engraved and plated. Engraving with elk on the left side and a mountain loin on the right. Highly figured forend and Monte Carlo butt stock with checkering at forearm area and at pistol grip areas. Finely checked aluminum buttplate and pistol grip cap. CONDITION: Extremely fine and near mint. Retans all of its beautiful factory original finish to wood and metal sufaces with no visable handling marks noted. Appears as new factory test fired only. Sale price now $5,000 from $6,500.
