Colt 1877 Engraved Gold 38 Colt Lightning model 1877 DA, Cal. 38 colt 90% gold plated , a good bore, 4 ½ inch barrel, Manufactured in Hartford Connecticut in 1888 on top of the barrel is a two line Colt address on the left side of the barrel is a decent etched Colt DA 38 on the left side of the frame is three line patent, on the rear trigger guard is 38 Cal. In excellent working condition in single action or double-action, comes with 2 piece pearl grips in very good condition. Between 1877 and 1897 only 31 guns were shipped gold plated. This is a no letter gun we believe that it's factory engraved factory Gold plated and used for one of the Expo shows. It was on display in Cody Wyoming Museum in 2003 and it was also put in the book (Colt and its Collectors) on page 131.
