Description:
Made by Burnside Rifle Company with a 20 inch round 3-Groove barrel with a bright shiny near excellent bore that does have a couple of scattered pits. Barrel retains quite a bit of original blue that is thinning to a plum/brown patina towards the muzzle. Original sights. Receiver has darkened smokey case colors showing through the gray/brown color. Markings are fairly sharp and crisp. Lots of small inspector marks are visible. Stabler cutoff switch. Walnut stocks are in good condition and retain some original oil finish with nice raised grain throughout with just a few minor dings and handling marks. Two crisp cartouches are visible on the left side of the wrist. Nice functioning action. Nice looking example of a Civil War carbine for your collection.
