FABRICACIONES MILITARES (FM ARGENTINA) Around 1967, Argentina obtained a license from F. N. to manufacture its own Hi-Powers and FABRICIA MILITAR D ARMES PORTATILES "DM" ROSARIO, "F.M." commenced manufacture. First, the Polica Federal replaced its caliber .45 pistols with the Hi-Power. Since the Hi-Power was superior in design and construction (as compared to the Colt 1911A1) it was issued to the military forces and police agencies. Argentina has also sold the Hi-Power commercially, in both domestic and foreign markets, and under contract to the military and police of other countries. 9mm Luger
