Antique Model 1842 Harpers Ferry Mississippi rifle dated 1847. The full length barrel is 54 caliber with both front and rear sights and has pitting. The functioning lock is difficult to read due to pitting but is marked Harpers Ferry 1847. The full length dark walnut stock is in very good condition. The patch box, but plate trigger guard and barrel bands are brass with a brown patina. The barrel and lock are dark with pitting. The 54 caliber bore shows good rifling but is dark with pitting and needs cleaning. The rifle appears complete with sling swivels. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
