This is a 1923-made rifle that has retained 80-85% of the original blue finish, mostly on the barrel and magazine tube, while the frame has some blue remaining on the protected areas, and a mottled gray and plum-brown on the balance that continues onto the bolt and lever. The rifle is equipped with a sporting bead front sight which shows some peen marks around it (see Photos). The original semi-buckhorn rear sight, and a Marble’s flip-up tang sight as well. The walnut forend and buttstock have numerous small handling marks and minor blemishes scattered about the old added oil finish, as well as a few moderate bruises on the buttstock near the heel. This is an attractive, 100 year old Winchester in very good-near fine condition, and would make a great addition to any collection.
