This is a very nice example of a "480 Code" Walther P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1940. This is a first-variant with "480" on both the slide and trigger guard. It is all matching and has the proper "Eagle 359" military acceptance proofs throughout, even on the small parts. The entire gun has been restored and refinished. There is virtually no actual bluing loss, but there are areas of visible pin-pricking under the finish along both sides of the slide and on the front strap. Comes with excellent matching-numbered waffen-proofed Walther grips and an un-numbered "Eagle 359" marked Walther magazine. The bore has decent rifling, but there is light scratching throughout and pin-pricking in the grooves. De-cocker is not functional.
