Description:
This is a late war Model HP, also known as a commercial grade P.38. Only about 17,000 of these were made (total during the war). This gun has the original wartime finish with period correct grips and magazine. All parts are matching including the slide, frame, barrel and locking block. While somewhat rare as a late war commercial P.38, this one is unique as it is also waffen military proofed on the right side of the slide. Only about 30% of this variation are waffen proofed (~5000 total). This just means that it was "born" a commercial gun but then diverted to the military and accepted into service. The finish has thinned out across the pistol, but it has done so uniformly on the slide. Excellent bore. Good mechanics, including de-cocker. Walther magazine.
