Here we have an unfired Colt Match Target HBAR competition AR platform rifle in 5.56 NATO caliber. The HBAR designation means that this rifle has a heavy match target barrel which will heat up much more slowly that a slimmer light profile barrel. The 20" barrel has a 1:9 twist. The rifle has a detachable carry handle incorporating an adjustable rear sight. The front sight is adjustable for elevation. There are resources on the internet that show how to properly sight in an AR rifle with these sights. This rifle is from the early 1990s and has remained unfired since leaving the factory. The only marks or wear are the result of storage and non-shooting handling. The rifle has the factory-installed Accuwedge and the bolt carrier group is engraved with "MPI" which means it was magnetic particle inspected. The stock is not adjustable. The rifle comes with all original accessories and the factory box with matching serial number. This fine retro Colt would make a great competition rifle or an excellent addition to a collection of fine service rifles.
