Description:
PRICE REDUCED-I am offering a custom Browning/Sako .222 Remington from my collection.  The basis for this fine rifle is a Sako manufactured barreled action made in 1968 for Browning.  There was a total of 6,000 Sako short action (Vixen) rifles  imported into thu U.S.A. in 2 calibers, 222 Remington and 222 Remington Magnum.  If evenly split, there would be only 3,000 in each caliber.  The custom stock was crafted by Fred Speiser, Missoula, Montana from English walnut.  Checkering is point pattern with wrap around on the fore end which is capped with ebony wood.  The safety is a custom model 70 style mounted on the bolt shroud (see photos).  the scope is a German made Zeiss Diatal-C 10X with duplex crosshairs.  The scope is optically and mechanically perfect.  The scope mounts are Kimber.  Barrel contour is medium heavy.
This rifle is extremely accurate (see test targets).  It will shoot 1/2 inch groups regularly.  I shot a fly at 100 yards with this rifle when I was a lot younger and my eyes were much better.  20 grains of IMR4198 powder, Federal case/primer, and most any 50 grain bullet will shoot well.  The Hornady 50 grain SX bullet is particularly accurate and lays waste in prarie dog towns.
Condition is near new in all aspects.
I have dies, reloads, and factory ammo available at additional cost.
Additional photos upon request.
