*SOLD* Very clean Target style Model 70 in 220 Swift caliber. S/N 89*** with matching scribed bolt. This is a "transition" era rifle sharing both pre and post war characteristics of a 1948 S/N and underbarrel stamp, a pre war "clover leaf" shaped tang, the unique to this era "clam shell" or "rabbit's foot" safety lever, yet a straight tapered Type III receiver tang, surely one of the very first rifles to incorporate this minor tang shape change which would sustain throughout the remainder of production. This rifle is in nice condition showing 96% original finishes and clean internals. The bore and mechanical functions are very good. The barrel is 26" stainless steel with muzzle face left in the white as were all matte finished stainless barrels to avoid "shooting off" the film of blued iron oxide they were treated with.
