This WWII Type 14 pistol is dated November, 1943. The 4.5"" round barrel has an excellent bore with bright, strong rifling. The gun retains approx. 99% blue and straw colors. The right side of the receiver is marked with the Nagoya Arsenal symbol followed by an inspection character followed by the serial number. Below that, to the rear of the upper grip is a Japanese character followed by 18.11 (November, 1943). The left side has the Safe and Fire characters followed four Japanese characters at the rear. All serial numbers, including the magazine, match. The grips are excellent with no cracks or chips. The action functions correctly. The leather holster is very good with tight stitching and a mottled brown color on the front and rear. Shortly after this pistol was made, the quality of manufacture began to deteriorate. For a late war gun, this one is stunning. Overall, this is an excellent mathing WWII Type 14 rig. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
