Description:
Mannlicher Schoenauer, Model 1956 MC Rifle, 30-06 made in 1959.  It was my dad's, who bought it new in '59 and then had the Kuharsky brothers in their shop on West 12th in Erie, PA (our home town) put on their adjustable mounts with the Bausch and Lomb Balvar 8 scope, 2 1/2-8X. It was my dad's baby and was lightly used and greatly taken care of...The stock and bore are excellent, as the rifle was not shot much, as my dad was an inner-city guy who got out for deer season once or twice a year. The scope shows a few scratches, but the rifle itself is at 90% or better.  As far as the scope, if you want a Balvar 8 or 8a, shiny and in many cases still in the box, check out Ebay. I can guarantee there will be several for sale at modest money. Why modest money for a good scope (that obviously lasts)?  The scope had no external adjustments, so if you didn't have the base to zero, I guess it could be a spyglass?? Back to the rifle...If you check the latest Fjestad Blue Book of Gun Values (to me the "bible" for gun prices), you will find that in 100%, the rifle's value is about $2000 w/o scope and mounts.

My price is a deal...checkout this and other gun /sales sites.  I trust I am several hundreds less than what you can find anywhere.... A one-owner Mannlicher Schoenauer with scope and mounts for $1200?  I say "one-owner"... It came to me with my dad's passing in 2011 and has been a safe queen ever since. I took it to my friend's range several days ago and shot at a hanging metal-plate 5"X18" at 200 yards. This was the first and only time the rifle has been shot in over 20 years. I hit the plate after first holding high and then low, as the precise zero has got to be redone, starting at 25 yards, not 200. Of course I cleaned it immediately.  I was a career Army combat arms soldier and some habits never die.

If you are interested and have any questions pls do not call... EMAIL me and leave me a message and your phone number. I will call you back or we can converse via emails. We'll decide on shipping means per the buyer's wishes and I'll get the cost once that is done.  If you're a Mizzou rez you may pick it up, as I'm a shade north of Kansas City, just across the Missouri River from Leavenworth, KS. Otherwise you know the FFL drill for shipping.

Many regard these Mannlicher Schoenauers as the finest rifles ever made, me included.  I've had newer and older Weatherby Mark Vs and they do not compare. I'm getting this Mannlicher down-the-road as I simply do not use it as I related above, and myself am in the 4th Quarter of a non-overtime game.

I'd prefer a USPS money order for payment, but will also take a personal check, providing you understand that it will have to clear...adding time for you to receive the rifle.
