All original and complete. The outer shell of the case is excellent throughout with no chips in it. On the top of the box is a raised image of a "Smith & Wesson First Issue Revolver" along with the raised words, "MANUFACTURED ONLY BY/SMITH & WESSON/SPRINGFIELD MASSACHUSETTS" On the bottom of the box all around the edges are small raised images of Smith & Wesson First Issue Revolvers. The inside of the box is fine throughout with no damage to the interior gutta percha partitions. Both the original burgundy and green lining are also fine. Using two differnt colors inside thes boxes was commonly used in the factory production. The hinges are tight.
