Description: Kimber 8400 Caprivi in 458 Lott Beautiful Wood and craftsmanship. Discontinued by Kimber in the 458 Lott Caliber, this rifle is on 20 years old and has never been sold over the counter to the public. The 458 Lott round was developed by Jack Lott after returning from Mozambique where he was wounded by a encounter with a Cape buffalo in 1959 when his 458 win mag didn't perform as expected. He decided to lengthen out the chambering allowing the velocity to be increased making it capable of shooting a 500 grain bullet over 2300 FPS (exceeding even the 450 nitro express ballistics). In a pinch this chambering is also still capable of shooting a 458 win Mag cartridge if 458 lott ammo is unavailable.
