Description:
This is a nice  example of the Swiss 1882 revolver. All serial numbers found match as well as the production numbers. There is no import marks. We have conducted a field strip of this revolver but not a detail disassembly. There is no pitting or rust in any of the areas that were inspected and no reason to believe that there is any internal issues. The bore and cylinder walls are bright and shiny. there are no visible cracks in the wooden grips. These revolvers were built so well, they continued in service till 20+ years after WWII. The Model 1882 Ordnance Revolver has a front sight looped directly onto the barrel, the rear sight is an integral part of the frame. The safety is connected to the loading door (Abadie system). This example shows the factory upgrade of the recoil plate and not the retrofit. Our serial number research shows this revolver was built in 1927 so it is C&R eligible. There were a  total of 37,254 produced at Bern with a number smaller than that brought to the USA.
There are no surprises on this revolver and would be an excellent example of this rare model for any collection.

All firearms should be inspected by a competent Gun Smith
