This is a very early example of the scarce Winchester Model 1886 rifle, with this one dating to 1887. The listing includes a Cody letter stating it shipped in September of that year with round barrel and plain trigger. Chambered for .45-90 with 26in barrel. The finish is original but worn thin throughout. The bore has okay rifling but it has smoothed down to some extent, and there's some pitting throughout. Stock and forend are in good condition with no major defects. Lever action is fairly smooth and appears to function properly. Antique so no licensing required.
