We are offering a absolute investment piece. This is a Detective Special 38 spl. made in first run of 1948. It has the original test target from Colt, and the original black brush in wrapper. the box is 100% correct [numbered to gun] ,but the rear hinge separated. The gun has 99% original blue.It is also known as Colt dual tone finish. it has a pre war frame, pre war grips, pre war ejector rod and ejector end.[case hardened] and all blue cylinder release.Another interesting twist, is the barrel stamping is of prewar barrels, even though it is a second model bbl. I find NO Evidence that this gun was fired outside of the factory [look at pictures] I have had this in my collection for many,many years. Time to find another collector, who appraciates the QUALITY of this vintage. serious inquiries, Please. additional pictures if you so desire. these are extremely hard to find in this condition.

I have been collecting Colt firearms for over 40 years. I only sell what I would keep myself. All of my guns are wiped down with rig grease for protection, so keep this in mind when looking at pictures.
