Rare gun made on a #4 frame that is fresh to the market from a fine old estate collection. This gun, a Grade 2 Top lever hammer gun is very interesting in that is was made as an ultra heavy weight gun! The gun was made with 32" Damascus barrels that have an unstruck barrel weight of 6lbs 13oz! They are very thick and heavy, obviously made for incoming ducks. Engraved in classic early Grade 2 pattern as seen in the photos. The gun has been professionally restocked with a beautiful piece of fiddleback American Walnut as seen in the photos and with modern shootable dimensions.
The gun remains in excellent overall condition. Barrels retain about 90% of their beautiful damascus pattern. The action retains hints of original case color. Custom stocks are near mint, sound and retain most of their hand rubbed custom finish. Bores are mostly bright and shiny and mechanics are tight and crisp. The gun is beautiful and sound!
