Description:
Colt SAA circa 1884, .45 lc. 4 ¾” barrel.  Per the factory letter, dated 1976, this SAA was sent “soft” to Schoverling, Daly & Gales, New York City; then to be engraved and nickel finished.

Engraved in a pattern similar to what would be considered Colt “B” type.  In 1884 it well could have been engraved by L.D. Nimschke, who was prominent engraver of Colts, in New York City at that time.

Some time ago this beautiful SAA went through a complete and very fine, professional restoration.  Look closely at the high-resolution photos and what you see is a magnificent 1884 vintage SAA, engraved with Mother of Pearl (MOP) grips and flawless nickel finish.

For the collector:  This is a fine example of black powder frame SAA engraved in the mid 1880’s.  If the condition of this gun was completely original looking like it does, instead of having been professionally restored, the gun would command a price in the neighborhood of $50k+
