We offer you a Savage Arms Corp. Pre-War Model 99E Lever Action Rifle in .300 Savage Made in 1928.
This Savage 95 year old model 99 wears a 24 inch barrel that has an excellent bore with no issues. The forearm shows dings and marks as shown. The receiver and lever show little bluing remaining but no pitting. The butt stock has a small chip at the toe with two light cracks at the tang as pictured. It also has marks and dings as you would expect from a 95 year old rifle. However, there are no extra holes in the stocks or metal which is not often the case on these old 99 rifles. The rifle functions just fine with no issues. The front face of the lever boss is marked with a small “K”. The left side of the barrel is marked “.300 SAVAGE” with A “SAP” in an oval. The top of the receiver’s chamber ring is marked “SAVAGE / MODEL 99”. The right side of the barrel is marked “HI-PRESSURE STEEL - PROOF TESTED”. The top of the barrel is marked “SAVAGE” and “SAVAGE ARMS CORPORATION / UTICA, N.Y. MADE IN U.S.A.”. The underside of the receiver is marked “314486”, found again on the underside of the rear of the stock under the plate.
