The Anschutz 1517 is a fantastic shooter. The 23-inch Medium weight barrel holds tight groups and the classic walnut stock is a looker. The 1517 is sure to excel at the range as well as in the woods. This easy-to-handle hunting stock, made of lacquered walnut, directs the recoil evenly and horizontally to the rear to the black recoil-reducing synthetic butt plate, considerably reducing recoil that is felt. The action is used in the Anschutz 1517 is the Model 64. This is a bolt action with cam cocking, claw extractor, additional cartridge holder and ejector. Telescopic sight mounting is by an 0.43" wide Anschutz Wave Style V-block dovetail rail or by additional drilled and tapped holes. .17 HMR
