This early production, single action, buffered blowback pistol, delivered to the military in April 1916, has its magazine release behind the trigger guard and buffalo horned grips, each panel secured with a single screw. The designer, patent reference, manufacturer, and location in Guernica are marked on the top of the slide. Left side of frame marked to reference model “1913” and serial number. Correct unnumbered magazine which has a slotted spine. Major components rust blued. Hammer, safety, trigger, and magazine release are case hardened. Pressed buffalo horned grips, each with an encircled Campo Giro reference, surmounting a separately encircled star within a wreath and a larger encircled E/U. Contained in a custom wood presentation case lined in red velvet with an identifying brass label on the outside. Synopsis: Astra, Esperanza y Unceta, Campo-Giro, M1913, 9mmL, Spanish Military, custom presentation case Condition: G/VG with moderate wear, consistent with a pistol that has seen significant service use. The right side of the hammer pin has an extension that slips into the firing pin axle, the extension absent, allowing the safety to rotate excessively. Comparable condition grips, the left panel missing a small edge of its border at top left corner. Mirror bright bore with sharp rifling. Correct manual mechanics, though the slide only stays retracted if slight upward pressure is put on the inserted magazine. Excellent carrying/presentation case as recently manufactured. An extremely scarce Campo Giro, a key item for those wishing to collect early developmental pistols, or interested in Spanish military small arms. ~~Insured shipping fee of $65; most packages shipped using FedEx 2nd Day.~~ SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Manufacturer: Astra Serial Number: 247 Caliber Info: 9mmL |
