NSN, circa 1814-1817, .54 caliber, 33"" octagonal to round rifled barrel. Metal is a smoot brown to grey patina with some scattered dents noted on the barrel. Barrel is unit marked with ""CONd G.Hay 1R 1st B 4th D"" Stock shows moderate wear with moderate dents and handling marks, a small crack is noted behind the lock plate. ""US/H. DERINGER/PHILADA"" is marked on the lock plate, action holds at half and full cock.
