Bright and Shiny with STRONG RIFLING. The metal is in VERY GOOD condition for it's age. The straight Walnut stock and forend have been RESTORED by SHOOTER'S EXCHANGE and LOOKS GREAT. Unique breech loading Saddle Ring Carbine with Brass Barrel Release Latch inside Trigger Guard freeing the Barrel to pivot downward. Manufactures Marks and Patent Dates are clearly marked on left side of receiver. Production of this percussion Carbine was almost entirely consumed by Government contracts and was used by various calvary units in the Civil War.
