Description:
The Trapdoor Springfield was manufactured, as a military arm, from surplus muskets at the Springfield Armory in Massachusetts. The Armory offered a special model for the officer corp who could order one for personal sporting use. There was, apparently, a total of 500 of them produced. The Officer's Model was specially checkered and engraved. This Harrington & Richardson is a reproduction of the original and features nice wood, checkering, engraving, and case color. It has a hardwood ramrod and a plate commemorating the H&R Centennial. .45-70 Government
