Payment Types Accepted: Bank to bank wire transfer (preferred), or bank cashier's check only Description: Very clean and highly desirable Model 70 in .257 Roberts caliber. S/N 83*** with matching scribed bolt made in 1948. This is a transition era rifle adding further to its scarcity. These guns were only produced for about 3 years (1946-48) and have some carryover Pre war features. This rifle still wears the pre war style "clover leaf" shaped receiver tang, and also has a unique to this period "clam shell" safety lever. Unlike the pre wars, these transition guns had smooth topped and unmatted rear receiver bridges, and were factory drilled for scope bases. The overall condition is very good-excellent showing 98% blue on the barreled action, with perhaps a slightly lower percentage on the bottom metal. The wood is about 96% with some scattered handling marks, but nothing too distracting, especially out of my bright and reflective lights, and it presents well in hand. The mechanical functions are flawless and the bore is excellent. The .257 Roberts is well known for its light recoil yet supreme performance. This is the perfect all original shooter in a fantastic caliber and configuration that will maintain its collector value if taken care of properly as it has been all of these past years. Expedited and fully insured shipping from Alaska to your FFL is $75. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
