ABOUT NEW CONDITION HARRINGTON & RICHARDSON "OFFICERS MODEL" .45-70 TRAPDOOR. This is a fairly high serial number example, #7XXX. I believe these were made in the 1970s. All American made with all the case colored parts engraved (hammer, breech block, lock plate, trigger guard, barrel band, butt plate etc.). Deeply blued barrel fitted with a wiping rod underneath. Tang sight on the wrist. Sharply checkered walnut stock and forearm with engraved pewter tip. These were an almost exact replica of the Springfield Officers Model of the 1870s (which will bring $20,000+ depending on condition). Great all American Made quality and this one appears unused inside and out. When you can find one, for now these remain a bargain.
