Description:
sale pending // This classic Mauser 98 sporter was built and sold by JP Sauer & Sohn and is in as new condition. If there is a handling mark in the bluing or safe dent in the stock, we cannot find it. Rifle features an octagon to round barrel with a full length standing rib. The top of the rib is matted. The bore is absolutely excellent. The action is quite smooth and the feed rails have been polished. The rifle bolt has the heavier dangerous game striker and the magazine follower has been nitre blued. And as found on other original dangerous game rifles, the follower will prevent the bolt closing if there isnt a round in the magazine. Triggers , safety and claw mounts all work as they should. This is a matching numbered rifle and has both the commercial Mauser serial number on the action, and the serial numbers that JP Sauer and Sohn used when they built the Mauser action into a classic rifle.  23.5" long barrel and a 14.5" LOP. The Oigee, Berlin 4X scope is mounted in claw mounts. The scope was cleaned and nitrogen filled by Iron Sight Inc in Tulsa Oklahoma. The scope was also rust blued to match the rifle's finish.

Must ship to an FFL. Credit cards add the 3% fee. You will pay the actual shipping for the rifle via FedEx, in a hard plastic case, to your FFL dealer. If you have any questions please let me know. You will look for a long time to find another "Africa ready" classic  with this much condition. Its ready for the hunt and would also do very well on any North American Big Game.

Strength and Honor!
