THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL SECOND GENERATION COLT WITH NICELY FIGURED ONE PIECE IVORY GRIPS. THIS COLT HAS OUTSTANDING CASE COLORING AND BLUING. ALONG WITH A 43/4" BARREL IT ALSO INCLUDES THE ORIGINAL 7 1/2 INCH BARREL. THE EARLY 2ND GENERATIONS ONLY CAME WITH EITHER .45 COLT OR 38 SPECIAL WITH 5 1/2" OR 7 1/2" BARRELS. MANY GUNS WERE CONVERTED TO THE SHORTER BARREL FOR QUICK DRAW REASONS. FINDING AN EARLY GUN WITH A LONGER BARREL IS VERY RARE. THE GUN APPEARS TO BE UNFIRED. THE ORIGINAL 7 1/2" BARREL IS LIKE NEW. THE GUN IS PRISTINE, IT HAS NO DINGS, TURN LINE, SCRATCHES OR ANY HANDLING MARKS OF ANY TYPE. UNFORTUNATELY THE BOX IS MISSING BUT IT WILL COME WITH THE PADDED CASE SHOWN IN THE PICTURE.
I have noticed other cased guns where the hammer is also cased. These have been identified as Turnbull restorations. I don't know if he restored this gun but I thinkl it's quite possible that he did.
