Description:
Worthy of restoration is this circa 1940 Browning A5 type semi auto shotgun. Most folks don't know this but during the war years (1940-1945) the production of the A5 was assigned to Remington who actually manufactured this Browning marked semi auto. The matted barrel bears Browning's St. Louis address marking, as it should. Receiver also marked Browning as shown in the photos. Curiously the bolt is marked Model 11. The stock has been shortened on this particular example, probably for a youthful shooter, and the pad needs to be replaced. The 26 inch barrel has a 2.75 inch chamber and the Browning **- choke marking which I believe is Improved Cylinder. A real time capsule and a very hard to find Browning.
