Description:
SCARCE .50 Caliber Rifle MOWREY of OLNEY, TEXAS Black Powder Muzzle Loader

Attractive Brass Frame Boxlock from the 1970s

Here we present a .50 Caliber Muzzleloading Rifle by William Mowrey of Olney, Texas, made circa the 1970s. This rifle features a brass frame and thick butt plate and overall aesthetic derivative of the Allen & Thurber rifle from the mid-19th Century of Massachusetts. This yields a slender and well-balanced rifle with a unique 19th Century appeal. Owners tout their accuracy.

The overall condition is very good. Original finish. The action is strong with a bit of left to right wiggle in the hammer. The bore is in nice shape with sharp rifling. The stock is solid. Clear and legible markings.

Barrel is 32 inches.

Caliber: .50

Overall condition as seen in photos.
