Description:
This Springfield Armory Model 1898 Krag-Jorgensen bolt action rifle in .30-40 Krag is in good condition. The blued barrel and receiver frame are good with 50 to 60% of the finish remaining. The blued 30" barrel is excellent with sharp clear rifling in its bore. The trigger is firm and smooth with a crisp release. The factory stock has the usual battle scarring and handling marks of a 100+ year old U.S. issued rifle. There were 500,000+ Krags manufactured from 1894 to 1904, while being in service from 1892 to 1907. The Model 1898 Krag was replaced by the Springfield Model 1903 after ample inventory was built up. This Model 1898 was manufactured in 1898. This Springfield Armory rifle does come with a period correct looking sling, but does not have a box or any other accessories. .30-40 Krag
