Description:
Made in 1948, serial #19594, 8mm Mauser, 20 1/2" barrel with a bright excellent bore. Metal surfaces on this nice post-war small ring Brno Mauser retain 96-97% original blue, the loss due primarily to mild use.. The bolt body and extractor are finished bright with minor high-edge wear on the butterknife bolt handle. The full-length classic style European walnut stock features a rounded left side cheekpiece and shows some nice contrasting grain, the stock rates excellent with only minor handling marks from light use afield. The gun features nice bordered checkered panels with a hard rubber gripcap and buttplate. Amenities feature double set triggers, a long-tang triggerguard, push-button floorplate release and left-side-of-shroud safety, which actually retracts the cocking piece; the receiver races are nicely lapped bright as well. There is a simple bead front sight on a sporting ramp with two-leaf open rear sight, one standing one folding.
