MEXICAN WAR H. ASTON U.S. MODEL 1842 PERCUSSION CAVALRY PISTL DATED 1848. 15” o/a with 8” smoothbore .54 cal. round barrel with stirrup ramrod. Lock stamped “MIDDTN/CONN/1848”. Barrel proof stamped and U.S. Ordnance inspected at left breech “U.S./NWP/P”. Stock stamped on side panel with two very good Ordnance Sub-Inspector’s cartouches. Good overall with all original parts. Has wear and signs of battle use with minor wood hairlines and worn lock markings forward of hammer. Lock in working order. Reasonably priced original Mexican War Model 1842.
