Description:
This is a very nice Winchester Repeating Arms Model 70 XTR bolt action rifle in .243 Winchester. The deeply blued barrel and receiver frame are excellent. The blue 22" sport contour barrel is very good with sharp clear rifling in its bore. The trigger is firm and Winchester smooth with a crisp positive release. The checkered dark walnut stock is overall very good, but there are two(2) small gouges on the RH stock on either side of the bolt handle. This is a beautiful older Model 70, excepting the small gouges. The Model 70 Winchester has been in production from 1936 to the present with several variations of controlled feed and push feed. This example was manufactured in 1979 which makes it a push feed. This Winchester Model 70 rifle does not come with a box or any other accessories. .243 Winchester
